hey, i appologize if there is a pre-existing thread with this same problem but in many threads i come upon on this site i am unable to see the pictures the thread starter has put up (there are cleary pics there because ppl are commenting on them). i was wondering if any one had any insite on how to fix this

2 possible issuses here.

The first is simply that you connection is rubbish

and you're not giving your browser enough time to load the image.

The second is:

(if using Firefox)

(if using IE)

The problem could be that the pictures were there, people made comments, pictures were removed for some reason. I have the same issue but only on some rare threads.

Try this: Right click on where the image should be, if you get a "properties" option go to it, it should give you an image URL (e.g. http://www.site.com/picture.jpeg), copy it and put it into your browser. When that page full loads, can you see the image?
